BASIC Definition

Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code. A simple programming language designed by John Kemeny and Thomas Kurtz in 1963 at Dartmouth College. BASIC was designed as an easy programming language to learn and it was originally designed for mainframes, but it is now extensively used on personal computers.
