Binary Coded Decimal Definition
(BCD) A binarycoded notation in which each of the decimal digits is expressed as a binary numeral. For example, in binarycoded decimal notation, the number 12 is represented by 0001 0010, opposed to 1100 in pure binary. It is easier to convert decimal numbers to and from BCD than binary.
