Magneto-optical Disk Definition

A plastic or glass disk coated with a compound with special properties. The disk is read by bouncing a low-intensity laser off the disk. To write to a Magneto-optical Disk, a higher-intensity laser is used to heat the material up allowing its magnetisation to be altered.
